298 millon euros catch value for Feezer trawlers in Iceland
The year 2024 was pretty good for the
freezer trawlers in Iceland, they where in total 13
but Örfirey RE did stop fishing early in the year 2024, and new trawler Þerney RE took over
All the freezer trawler in Iceland are fillet freezer trawlers. but in Norway many freezer trawlers
there freeze the hole fish, and then the fish is defrosted in land and fillet there
but three trawlers in ICeland did caught over 10.000 tons, and Sólberg ÓF
that was number 1 for the year 2023, was also number 1, in the year 2024
with total of 13339 tons in 12 trips, and most 1467 tons in one trip
total value 45,6 million euros, ore 519 million norsk krona
Baldvin Njálsson GK that is the newest freezer trawler in Iceland was number 2, even if
he was fishing 4000 tonns less fish than Sólberg ÓF did
main reason why Baldvin Njálsson GK and Guðmundur í Nesi RE did have
such a high catch value is because they where fishing alot of greenland halibut
Arnar HU was out from fishing for almost 3 months because the trawler was in dock
