Big fire on Jakob from Norway

One of the worst things that sailors can experience is when a fire breaks out on board a boat or trawler that is out at sea.

Jón Páll Jakobsson, who owns the liner Jakob in Norway, got into a pretty bad situation few days ago.

They were at sea and were on their way to Varanger Fjord to lay a line, and were very close

land, when suddenly a fire broke out in the boat and in just 5 minutes the boat was engulfed in flames

on board the boat were 50 bales of line and they melted, yet the fire did not reach the engine room,

when the fire broke out, they were about 0.4 miles from Svartnes and managed to sail in there,
maybe luckily they were a short distance from shore because it was not possible to get to the lifeboat because the fire

was there a rescue boat came and sprayed Jacob and managed to save the front part.

anyway, jakob is useless and Jón Páll said that there were three people in the boat's crew, and they all escaped unharmed.

still a big shock nonetheless.
